My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A senior dog who knows the ropes with a young dog's heart. How old is he? We don't know and he doesn't care!, He is about 12 lbs of cuteness. He's ready to go and enjoy the day. He has a bit of a wobbly walk but that doesn't stop him from keeping up with the pack. If he stumbles, he just gets straight back up and carries on completely undeterred. He is vision and hearing impaired.

He loves being with my other dogs and would join in their play, but his legs just won't let him. He follows me around the house, and naps at my feet in a doggy donut bed but if there isn't one, he will sleep on the floor as long as he is close by. I feed him separately in his crate. He eats his food with relish and has shown no signs of food aggression whatsoever.
He sleeps quietly in a crate all night and when I leave the house. He is potty trained as long as he is taken out on a regular schedule. No marking, no chewing, no jumping on the furniture. A gentle senior dog with a great personality who deserves a loving home.

Gus is on Vetprofen to make him comfortable and will likely be on it for life. Its a med for arthritis.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
