My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you'd like to meet Cayenne, we ask that you first visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and then schedule an on-site appointment. Open walk-in hours are also available. www.ggohinc.com

Cayenne is a young momma who arrived here at GGOH with her three kittens in tow, looking for a warm place to land. We gotcha momma! This little family needed to quickly get out of the elements before sub-zero windchills hit our area. The great outdoors is not a place for young kittens to be in the dead of winter so, what could we do but welcome them all in.

Cayenne is still learning that us humans are not the enemy - she's coming around, albeit slowly. With each passing day, she is learning that it's okay, and that we are here to help. The best environment for Cayenne right now would be one where it's calm and quiet, and with an experienced cat owner who can understand her behaviors and signals. We have complete faith that she is going to be a great companion in time, she just needs someone to give her a safe, trusting, relaxed home with lots of patience and love. If this sounds like you, why not come in and meet Cayenne and see what you think. Cats like Cayenne often turn out to be the sweetest souls once given a chance.

Cayenne has an approx. DOB of 12/12/2022.

More about this rescue

Established in 2003, we are a no-kill rescue/re-home program that takes in abandoned, homeless and unwanted animals. We work tirelessly to find new, permanent homes for our rescues. Our program's Director began this journey when our county's humane society was closed down.

A note from our Director:

"I have been a lifelong rescuer; all of my pets (currently, 10 dogs and 5 cats) are rescue animals. They mean the world to me and I want to help as many animals as I can while I am on this earth. Back in 2003, I gathered together many animal lovers in the area and we started our rescue efforts; we've continued to grow over time and are now operating as a 501c3 organization, which has helped us strengthen our efforts to save the animals. We want to see that no animal goes without love, shelter, food or a happy life. We work on educating the public about the overpopulation problem, we promote spay/neuter programs, and we do group tours at our facility to teach about the rescue re-home world. To get our youth community involved, we visit schools to teach about responsible pet ownership, animal abuse and neglect, and what they as an animal advocate can do to help prevent these tragedies. We are proud of what we do here at our rescue and we believe it is our job to protect those that speak another language and quite honestly, we just could not imagine a world without them. I invite you to join our efforts by becoming a sustainable monthly donor, a volunteer with our program or, simply to be another voice for the animals. Contact us today to find out how you can help."
