My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mister Benny is ready for a new home! This Lab mix at 73 lbs is 7 months going on 60 years old...he is a mature fella who loves to nap! He might be a little shy, but is also extremely friendly and will let people give him pets. He does enjoy giving his person a hug, and he doesn't realize he has giant paws. Benny is very sweet boy who is generous with kisses, loving to lick hands and faces.

Another good thing about Benny is he is housetrained. Foster parent doesn't use a crate with him because he will howl, and is a good boy when they leave him out and about. He typically sleeps on the bedroom floor, occasionally joining in bed when invited. Benny is good with cats and other dogs, but prefers a gentle play style. He hasn't had much exposure to kids in our care, but did great the couple times he had interactions with them.

Benny co-hosted a New Years party with his foster mom, had about 12 people over and he did great! Welcoming in 2025 was loud, but he held in his excitement well and didn't jump on anyone, politely allowing pets all night long. During quieter times at the party, he laid on the floor and slept, getting in his rest to welcome his new family very soon!

His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
