My story

Hank is a 14-month-old Chihuahua recently rescued from a Amish puppy mill. This boy is adjusting quickly to real life. He loves people and wants to be a lap dog. He is great with other dogs and is not yippie like some Chihuahuas. He is doing really great with housebreaking. Although he is a sweet boy, we would like him to go to a home without small children. He was mistreated by kids in the first part of his life. Hank is a small guy about 5 pounds. Hank will be neutered next week and ready for his new home. Hank is fostered in Wiscasset.

More about this rescue

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.

PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
