Two year old Lulu is looking for dog people to entertain, kiss, protect and hang out with - perhaps a young retiree or family with older children? She is very affectionate and sweet towards her guardian. She loves walks and will let you know when she needs to go outside for a potty break. Lulu is just coming out of her adolescence and is quite energetic, but still needs a nap even if, like a toddler, she doesn’t think so.
Lulu was found as a stray and some strangers remind her of past bad experiences, but if they offer her a treat she is won over! She is very smart and loves food. Small treats (so she doesn’t overdo) have helped her learn quite a few commands. Lulu looks like a Cairn Terrier, but is smaller, weighing in at 9 lbs. It would be great if the new guardian(s) have a house with a secure backyard for her to romp in, although she would prefer to be with her guardian at all times.. You will be notified if people she doesn’t know well come to your home. She even notified her foster when a pot on the stove started to burn!
Lulu has spent the last 1/2 year with her foster, whose health no longer allows her to keep Lulu full time. However, she will happily offer free boarding if you have a vacation or weekend away that can’t include a dog.
Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Lulu is $500.
If you are interested in adopting Lulu, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.
