This cute orange boy is a very friendly stray cat that we started feeding several months ago. At the beginning of December, he showed up with a wound on his face, so I took my chances at picking him up and getting him to the vet. He was scared, but did not fight back. Despite his pain, he was so enjoying all of the new attention he was getting! Even though he was being poked and prodded, he would start purring the second someone would start petting him. After a few hours with him, we just knew that the outside life wasn't for him. I (foster mom) have been spending lots of time in his room with him, and he wants nothing more than to be in someone's lap getting loved on as much as possible. He is very food driven and also LOVES catnip. He can be very vocal and demanding, but we find it to be a very cute quirk. He is still adjusting to being an inside cat, so he needs some patience, as he will beg and yowl to be let out still. Cat TV and looking out of windows where wildlife is present seem to help stimulate that part him. We do not know how he became a stray, but his ears tell a story of a hard life. He is extremely sweet and affectionate with women, but he is a shy when it comes to men, though I have no doubt that he can and will warm up to men with time and patience. Foster dad has been able to pet him, but he does tend to hide when he is around. He has never shown any aggressive tendencies to humans. We do not know how he is around other cats, but we have never witnessed him provoking fights with the other strays we feed. He is estimated to be 3-5 years old, and while he is FIV+, he has many years ahead of him, and lots of love to give. He would do best in a home that has someone home most of the time, since he is such a lap cat.
This kitty is currently in a loving foster home and has been tested positive for FIV and negative for FELV, microchipped, has age-appropriate vaccinations, and has been spayed/neutered.
