This helps Town and Country Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
This 2 year old hunk is now back on the dating scene, looking for his forever family. His story is tragic. He was surrendered after his owner passed away and his grief was palpable when we first met him. But slowly, he has come out of shell and is now ready to meet the new love of his life. This boy is incredibly friendly and his greatest motivator seems to be human affection. He is also food motivated, knows sit and is working on other commands. He can be a bit guarded in new situations and with new people, which is understandable given how drastically his life was turned upside down. He tends to offer his deep bark as a way to both attract attention and signal that he needs some warm up time if you want to approach him. He has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite and we've seen no sign of aggression from him. He rides in the car politely and takes treats patiently and gently. We have not yet determined if he is dog or cat friendly. Due to his size and strength, he would be best suited in a home with older children. Don't wait to apply for this guy because we know the flood gate will open with many applicants when his handsome mug hits the internet. He's going to go fast.
The adoption fee is $350 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.
Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission. If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee. It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.
***** If you are interested in any of our animals, please fill out an application on our website www.townandcountryanimalrescue.org
Your application will be reviewed, and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home. The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.
