Dulce is exactly as her name suggests, sweet as can be. She's a lovely 11-month-old lady looking to find her furever home!
Dulce is incredibly friendly with people and playful with other cats. She enjoys sitting on the highest part of the cat tree, birdwatching, and snuggling. She needs a lot of human interaction and attention and will start purring as soon as she sees you. She will even crawl under blankets to cuddle with you.
This sweet lady has a medium energy level. She sometimes gets random bursts of kitten energy, but overall for the most part is a pretty laid back girl.
Dulce currently lives in an apartment with 1 human and 2 other cats. Her ideal home would be with people who can give her all the attention and love she desires. This could be someone who works from home or is retired. She would especially love to go to a home with humans who are excited to play with her when she gets her silly energy bursts. Also, because of her young age and her love for other cats, she would really love to go to a forever home with a young friendly cat who can show her the ropes and provide companionship as she grows.
Overall, Dulce is a very well adjusted teenage kitten who will make a sweet addition to her forever home. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
