My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all DIVAS.... If ever you wanted a “diva” companion to be your best friend, look no further. This adorable little gal is TRIXIE; she is a long-haired, nub-tail, Chihuahua or Papillon mix who is about 3 years old and only 9-10 pounds. Trixie is a complex girl with so much love to share with her human. She prefers to be the center of your attention and will let others know it - a pretty typical trait for some Chihuahuas. Trixie is loyal to a fault and can be bossy and vocal to let her competition know it - that goes for humans and fellow furry ones. She may take a day or two to really warm up to new people and other pets, but she bonds strongly once she knows you. Trixie LOVES her toys and would play all day with you if you let her. In Trixie’s foster home, her best buddy is a 50lb bully mix named Cheeto; they really enjoy each other’s company and spend most of their time together. So, if you love having multiple dogs and want to keep Trixie and her buddy, Cheeto, together - we're happy to share more details about them. Cheeto is a WONDERFUL 50 pound, Bulldog mix who is gentle, passive, very loving, and well mannered.

Trixie is very communicative and will let you know, as you can see from one of the videos, when she wants to play, or want something, or is seeking attention. She requires a home without children, and would do best when her adopter is home more often. Trixie is looking to be spoiled rotten by her adopter, giving her the love and attention she craves. This little gal prefers a fenced in yard compared to going for walks on a leash for bathroom breaks, but with practice we believe she will adjust to leash walking if necessary.

This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases, provided inoculations, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.  Our online application isn’t working correctly so please contact us so we can send a copy via email to you.

More about this rescue

A Caring Place, is an All Breed Dog Rescue organization that is exclusively foster based (no facility) and is volunteer run. We rescue dogs and puppies from animal control facilities, dog pounds, and other shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. In addition we take in dogs surrendered by their owners who can or are no longer willing to care for their dog. Each dog this rescue takes in receives all medical care and treatment necessary to be healthy, and then place them into loving temporary homes (foster homes) until adopted. Without our foster care provider's, we could not save these dogs.

FOSTER CARE PROVIDERS are always needed!
