Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meela is a friendly, exuberant, affectionate 6 month old Labrador Retriever/Beagle mix who loves being around her people and going on adventures! She is a small and short statured girl who only weighs about 35lbs and isn't expected to grow much more.
Meela was surrendered by her owner to our local high kill shelter along with her sister. They had both been at the shelter for over two weeks with no interest, so they ended up being placed on the euthanasia list. We originally tagged both sisters, but were notified the next morning that Meela's sister had sadly passed away overnight from unknown causes. While we wish we could have gotten to her in time, we're thankful that we were able to save Meela and get to witness her living every day to it's fullest.
Meela is such a sweet girl who loves to be near you any chance she can get. She has a lot of that puppy energy still, and she loves to play tug, keep-away, and catch. She is a big toy enthusiast and will collect every toy she can find to put them in a pile next to you! Meela enjoys playing with other dogs and is pretty respectful of their boundaries, especially for a 6 month old puppy! She has played well with every dog she's met so far and has made a fast friend in our hyper 7 month old boy, Ollie. She thinks it's great fun to wrestle with and chase him around the yard, and he agrees!
Meela is crate trained, seems to be potty trained, and is good with other dogs. She would likely do well with older children, but may be a bit too energetic for smaller kids. She loves all people and is always happy to meet new ones! Meela is an extroverted girl with a lot of spunk and a zest for adventure!
Meela is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.
