Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mattie!

She is a quirky, three year old Shih-Tzu who is looking for the right fit for her forever home. She is full grown and weighs 18 pounds.

Mattie needs to be the only dog in the house. She also needs a home without cats or any kids under 12 years old. Her owner MUST be experienced with dogs!

She loves to be a lap dog and get lots of pets, but she also thinks that humans are her play time friends and can play rough with people. She walks well on a leash and is crate trained and house trained. She has some quirks at home, like barking at the TV.

Mattie will need to see the groomer every month or so for a trim, but she can be a bit of an.... well.... her groomer with have to be experienced with little dogs who have a bit of a 'tude....

While we know that Mattie has many restrictions we know that she can find the RIGHT home!

Our Applications Team will review and approve applications.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once approved and you agree the pet is right for you, sign the contract, pay the adoption fee and take your new family member home!

The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS), staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by individual and corporate donations. Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted.
