My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Microchipped, DOB: Nov 19, 2023

Yolanda is a small, gorgeous, one-year-old tuxedo cat ready to find her forever home.

Yolanda has had a rough start to her life, as she comes from a hoarding situation and is working on getting used to trusting her human friends. She started her foster care journey as a very shy cat, often spending her time hidden behind a book case. But if there's one thing this girl loves, it's wet food! So with some gentle coaxing (and a little bribery) she's gotten more comfortable and will sit and eat her dinner next to a human friend.

Despite needing some time to warm up to humans, Yolanda has no problem interacting with other feline friends. When she met the other cats in her foster home, she was thrilled! She quickly tried to make friends with them, following the around and showing them lots of affection. This also helped her confidence grow as she started to copy their behaviour, jumping on couches, chairs, and tables. She also explored every inch of her foster home in search of new places to curl up for a cat nap.

While Yolanda is still warming up to letting humans pet her, she has made a lot of progress and will sniff at her foster parents hands or feet and roll over on the floor close to them. With some more time and patience, her true personality will shine through and she'll become more comfortable with human interaction.

Yolanda would do best in a calm environment with cat friends to help her confidence grow, and with humans who understand and respect the time and space that she needs. With patience and love, Yolanda will certainly grow into an even sweeter and more loving cat that she deserves to be.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $225 per adult cat, and $300 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $225.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $175 per cat vs. $225 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
