Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hello. My name is Donovan, and I am a very handsome silvery-cream Schnauzer mix about 11 months old and 14 lbs. I was lost in San Marcos, Texas. I had no ID or microchip, so 4 Little Paws was happy to help when nobody claimed me. I am now vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find a much better life!
I am a friendly boy with lots of spirit and energy, not hyperactive, but interested in everything and everyone. I make friends easily with humans and dogs and even with strangers, I’ll walk right up and introduce myself. I’m fantastic with people, make an excellent playmate with other dogs, sweet and affectionate, and confident when my humans are around… but, I have separation anxiety. I need to know that you or someone else is at home. I don't bark or cry if I can't find you, but I can easily jump over a baby gate to search the house or scratch at the door to be with you. Please don't misunderstand, I’m not clingy or glued to your hip, as long as I see someone home, I can go about my business without a care in the world. I’m comical and entertaining, love doggy toys of every variety, and will carry them with me, or bat at my ball so I can chase it around having some fun. I’m well-behaved and housebroken on a schedule. I don't mind a crate if I can see that you're home. I enjoy walks to the park, rides in the car, sunbathing outdoors, and snuggling beside you at the end of the day, while we watch TV, read a book, or just take a nap. I hear the eastern Seaboard is the place to be, so Inquire about me today!
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
