My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet this adorable charm of three finches, approximately 3 years old! These lovely little birds share a strong bond and enjoy spending their days together. They're not hand-tamed, but their sweet chirping will surely bring joy to your home. These finches love a room with a view, where they can take in the sights while perched on their favorite swing.

They are happiest when housed in a larger cage, where they can move around freely. One of their cutest traits is how they always stick together, often seen side by side on the same perch, a sight that will melt your heart. They aren't fond of darkness, so a bright and cheerful environment will make them feel most at home. If you're looking for a charming and delightful trio to brighten up your space, this bonded group of finches will be a perfect addition!

Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
