My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola was found as a stray but is already showing her affectionate and joyful personality. She greets people with a wagging tail, eager to make a connection. She warms up quickly and loves attention, cuddles, and treats.

In playtime —she hops and runs with the enthusiasm of a puppy discovering the world. She knows how to sit and is learning to take treats gently. This lovable girl would thrive in a home that encourages her playful spirit and helps her feel secure.

Are you ready to give Lola the love and stability she deserves? She’s ready to bring endless joy to your life!

Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Lola at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering her.

Behavior notes:
Per day trip 1/5: She is an absolute sweetheart, incredibly well behaved on walks. She never once showed signs of aggression. When she came back to our house I used a warm towel with some skin sensitive wash for her as she was covered in a lot of dandruff. She never gave me a hard time even as I went to wipe down her paws, back area, and under her belly area. I even used a skin allergy butter balm for her entire body and she stayed so still while I massaged it onto her. She loves to lay her head on our laps and thinks she’s a small lap dog lol. She definitely loves to play and gets the zoomies. She played along with my 10 year old daughter perfectly and was never rough with her. She responded well to no, stop, and sit (especially when given a treat). Initially she was antsy about getting into the car for the ride but after a few minutes of walking her around the lot, she hopped back into the car and eventually settled down and did really well with the car ride back to the house.

I was so sad to have to bring her back to the shelter and really hoping she finds an amazing home, she would do so well with a family or even couple. She’s so loving.

Per Volunteer 1/4 Lola is an easy going lovebug! After her good dog meet, she came and hung out with me inside. She knows sit and enjoyed being pet and getting treats. She is green meaning new volunteers can take her out and spend time with her. See her photos and videos!

Volunteer noted 1/4/25 I was involved in a meet with a potential adoption meet with Lola. She is such a sweet and friendly girl. She was so easy to get out of the kennel. She interacted beautifully with their two teenagers and was gentle in taking treats. Lola made a very good impression and is ready to meet her new Foster or Adopter. Come and meet this friendly and beautiful girl today!

1/3/25 volunteer notes: Sweet little gal. Seems potty trained as she went immediately upon leaving kennel. Very easy on a leash. Explored in yard but would come cuddle after a bit. Didn’t know what to do with toys and seemed interested in other dogs (in a good way). Not super treat motivated. The more we walked , the “lighter “ she became …almost hopping along . Very sweet girl.

1/1/24 volunteer notes: Lola was a sweet girl today during our time today. I had no issue leashing Lola. Her body was loose and wiggle outside. She seemed happy to be out. Lola knows sit. She can be a bit snatchy with treats. She loved sniffing around in the yard. Didn’t seem interested in toys at this time.

1/1/25 staff notes:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Lola

KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Lola was on her bed and came up to the door with soft eyes and a wagging tail. She was a bit hesitant of the leash and sniffed it curiously but allowed easy overhead leash. Once secured she came right out and greeted her neighbors with a mid level wagging tail.

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally

HANDLING :
In the room, Lola was a bit nervous walking in but warmed up once I called her over. She trotted over and ran like a horse to me with so much happiness. She was super sweet, allowed all handling and wanted all the attention and cuddles she could get. She sat very nicely for treats and took them snatchy but with more treats she became more gentle. She was a bit nervous when I ran around, coming up to me slowly and then slowly jumping up to initiate play but it seems to be her being unsure if she can be wild and a puppy rather than being frightened of me running around. Once she opened up more with play she was hopping around and running around with me.

PLAY:
Engages in play

TOYS:
Minimal interest but possession

12/31/24 staff notes: She was very friendly! Was running up to everyone trying to jump and play. There was another animal in the lobby she was whimpering a little but didn't show any aggressive behavior.
