My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sherman: The Sweetest Senior Orangie!

At 10 years young, Sherman is a big-hearted, 12+ lb bundle of love wrapped in orange fluff! This friendly, talkative boy adores people and thrives on companionship. Whether you’re chatting about your day or snuggling on the couch, Sherman will happily be your buddy. He’s also a social butterfly with other pets—he loves cats and dogs alike! Sherman shares a special bond with his BFFs, Luna and Norman, who are also looking for forever homes.

Sherman is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and fully litterbox trained—this charming guy is ready to move in today! Despite his owner surrender due to health challenges, Sherman is still active and playful, proving age is just a number. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion, Sherman’s your guy!

More about this shelter

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter in Southern Idaho. Serving all of Canyon County, and surrounding areas. We take in the stray, surrendered, abandoned, neglected animals in our community. In 2017, we took in 7,778 animals. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance.

We contract with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County to house stray and owner surrender animals that their ACO's, or the general public, bring to us.
