Scooter is a 10 month old Maltese x Yorkie mix looking to zoom into the arms of his new humans! Scooter was rescued from the shelter on Christmas Day by one of our incredible volunteers who knew she needed to save some very grateful pups from spending the holidays in a kennel. Scooter showered her in kisses and away they went! Scooter is a petite dude, clocking in at 6 pounds with an expected adult weight of 8-10 pounds. Scooter has a light shedding coat so he may be an option for those with light allergies. Come grab your newest obsession, Scooter, today!

Scooter is a sweet, lovable puppy who can’t wait to meet you and melt your heart from minute one! According to his foster, he is the most gentle soul in the world who is always down for cuddles and puppy kisses. As you can see, he already knows how to rock a winter wardrobe which makes all the ladies turn their heads as he struts down the block. Scooter is the perfect blend of energy. He’s always happy to lounge the day away on the couch but he’s also excited to strap on his adventure pack and hit the open road! He’s got a bucket list and he’s ready to start checking off milestones! Scooter thrives on the love and attention his humans give him, so he will burrow his way into your heart as quickly as can be. While he can sometimes need a little bit of time to warm up to new environments alone, with you by his side he is fearless! Scooter has perfected his puppy dog eyes, which means you’ll be stocking up on an entire cabinet full of treats to keep him satisfied. Such is the life when you adopt an adorable puppy, trust us, we know!

Scooter’s day starts at 7 AM with a trip outside for a potty break. He zooms inside for breakfast and then gets his belly rubbed until he is ready for his morning nap. Once he has rested, he plays around the house and yard until lunch. After he eats, he plays with his toys in his playpen. He has a huge, ever-growing collection of plushies he would love to continue adding to in his forever home. Scooter has dinner around 6 PM and then hops onto the couch for cuddles and treats. He loves TV time every evening as he starts to wind down from the day. He goes out for one last potty break around 10 PM and then heads to bed in his crate by 10 PM.

Scooter currently lives with a resident dog and they get along very well. He adores humans and is extremely happy to meet new people, especially when they have treats for him. Scooter walks very well on a leash and is working on his potty training. Scooter can’t wait to meet you and zoom his way into the adventure of a lifetime!

Scooter is an option for homes with prior dog experience. Kids should be over the age of 8.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
