Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Duke is a 7 year old altered male whose owner suddenly passed away. Duke can be described as as a big and goofy boy. He would need a fenced in yard to let him get all of his energy out. Duke can be a little much at times so someone that will put him in his place would be great. He has never been around cats, so he would need to be cat tested. Duke would need to do a meet and greet with any dogs he may be living with as he can be selective at times. Since Duke does still have some puppy energy it is recommended that he go to a home with older children.

More about this shelter
We make every effort to find homes for every animal in our care. When our shelter is over-crowded, we rely on a network of "foster families" to take care of our pets. All the while, we have increased our efforts to "get the word out" about our pets (e.g. this website, pictures, newspaper publicity, etc.) Our efforts pay off.
The Staff and Board of Directors at the Humane Society love pets, and our actions bear out that simple fact. Our animal guests get the very best care while they are with us.
Please help! We need volunteers to help us exercise the dogs. We try to walk the dogs each day to provide them with the exercise and attention they so desperately need. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like. If you would be interested in helping us care for our animal guests, please call the shelter at 814-443-2121.
