My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & WONDERFUL GIRL:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 13 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Christy!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m sure happy to be here!  I was a little shy and nervous when I arrived, but that passed pretty quickly and then I went into a great foster home and made myself right at home!  I love my foster family, but nothing will beat a home of my very own.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I am doing well with the other dog in my foster home, so if you have a dog already, let’s meet! / There’s a kitty in my foster home and I just ignore her. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My fosters describe me as loving, easy-going, intelligent and just a delight.  When I arrived, I enjoyed sniffing all around the home and became comfortable very quickly. They say that I may be a little bit of a tripping hazard since I am quiet and small, so just be aware of that please. I am a sweet companion looking for a lucky family to adopt me! / My energy level is 3-5 currently, but my fosters think it may increase a little bit.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I ‘sit’ for treats and I’m sure you can teach me lots more! / I go into my crate for naps and some quiet time, but I don’t enter it on command.  I also haven’t fussed when placed in it when my fosters need to run errands, etc.  I think I’ll learn to go in it on command with just a bit of training.  At bedtime, I get to sleep with my foster family, so I hope I can do that in my new home too. /  I’m doing great with my potty manners in my foster home on a good schedule.  I have also learned to go to the door when I need to go outside.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to follow my people around the house and keep them company.  I also like to cuddle with them, and I especially enjoy burrowing into blankets on the couch. Following the other sweet dog around is also a fun thing to go. / I’m not a big fan of being alone and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Since I'm a Dachshund mix, I naturally have a long back which is subject to injury, so please don't allow me to jump on and off furniture so we can keep me safe and healthy.

I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
