My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bitna, Currently in Toronto (Richmond Hill, ON.)

Bitna is a 5-month-old golden-coated beauty with the most charming folded ears. Weighing 7kg, this sweet pup is the perfect mix of curiosity and caution. Though she hasn’t been spayed yet, she’s ready to find her forever home and bring endless joy to the right family.

Bitna can be a little shy at first, hesitant to let people get too close, but her curious nature quickly takes over. With a little patience and a few treats, she warms up in no time and transforms into a loyal companion. Once she trusts you, she’ll become your shadow, following you around the house and showering you with cuddles. While she doesn’t particularly enjoy being picked up, she’ll tolerate it when necessary, and her affectionate nature more than makes up for it.

With a low-to-medium energy level, Bitna enjoys short play sessions, a bit of sniffing around, or some quiet time with a chew toy. Afterward, she’s more than happy to curl up for a nap. On walks, she’s well-behaved on a leash, rarely pulling—except when she knows the walk is almost over and gets excited to head home.

During her time in foster care, Bitna hasn’t had close interactions with other dogs, but she remains calm and disinterested when encountering them, whether they’re showing interest in her or not. She has no resource guarding tendencies and is well-adjusted in her crate. Bitna is also impressively potty trained, both outdoors and with pee pads. The only time she’s vocal is when unfamiliar sounds come from outside the home, but it’s just her way of keeping an ear out for her space.

Bitna is a mild-tempered, affectionate puppy who thrives on trust and connection. She’s ready to bring love and sunshine into a forever home!

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
