My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cole! A stunning 3–4-year-old Samoyed-Jindo mix with a fluffy white coat and a friendly, laid-back personality. He’s the perfect mix of charm and calm!

Cole may be a little shy at first, but offer him a treat, and you’ll quickly win him over. While he isn’t the type to run up and shower you with affection right away, he’s a sweet, gentle soul who has no issues being touched. Once he feels comfortable, he’ll even roll over to show his belly! He’s great with adults but hasn’t had much experience around kids yet.

When it comes to other dogs, Cole is polite and says hello but isn’t interested in playing. He’s a pro at avoiding conflict, walking away calmly if another dog tries to provoke him. He mostly keeps to himself and doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs. His reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet.

Cole has a moderate energy level. He loves outdoor adventures but is happy to settle down and relax afterward. He’s great on walks, staying right by your side without pulling on the leash. While he prefers outdoor potty breaks, he might mark his territory when exploring new places.

At home, Cole is well-mannered and quiet. He doesn’t guard food from humans, but he does give a polite warning growl if another dog approaches his meal, so separate feeding is recommended. He rarely barks, is calm in a kennel, and while he’s not a fan of getting into cars, he’ll ride peacefully if carried.

Cole is incredibly gentle and accepting of people, even allowing strangers to leash him, pick him up, or take him for walks without any hesitation. However, it may take a few days—and some tasty treats—for him to fully warm up and show his affectionate side. Once he trusts you, he’ll ask for pets and might even snuggle up for cuddles within a week!

If you’re looking for a calm, sweet companion with a soft heart and an even softer coat, Cole is ready to be your loyal adventure buddy and cuddle partner!

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
