My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday, January 18, 2025*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.

Roma is a 10-month-old Retriever mix with a bright and loving personality. Weighing in at a healthy 40lbs, shes an outgoing and friendly pup who greets everyone with a wagging tail and a playful spirit. Roma loves attention and isn't shy about asking for belly rubs or giving you a big kiss to show her affection. Sweet Roma was adopted as a baby, and then found a a stray once later. Were excited to find her the family she deserves.

Roma enjoys the company of other dogs and loves playful games like chase and tug-of-war. Shes happiest in a home with another playful dog or an active family who can provide her with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. While shes presumed to be good with cats (and has done well in initial testing), her foster family is monitoring her interactions for updates. Although shes still perfecting her house training (currently about 50% there), Roma willingly enters her crate and settles after a short adjustment. She walks well on a leash, making her a great companion for outdoor adventures.

Romas ideal home would include space to play and loving companions - whether thats active humans, kids, or canine friends. With her playful energy and loving nature, shes ready to become the heart of a happy, active household.

Roma comes with an unlimited supply of love, laughter, and, of course, belly rub requests! Are you ready to meet this joyful pup and give her the loving forever home she deserves? Romas tail is wagging, and shes ready to start her next adventure with you!

Additional adoption info

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

More about this rescue

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
R.E.B.E.L stands for: rescue, educate, believe, empower and love dogs. We live by these words every day and encourage the dog-loving community to follow suit!
