Shelly is a 1-year-old Terrier mix with a sweet personality and a playful spirit. She is ready to find her forever home after being rescued from a high-kill shelter with her 8 puppies. This devoted pup is a perfect blend of energy and affection, making her an ideal match for an active, loving family.

Shelly has been friendly and outgoing with people, greeting new friends with a wagging tail, kisses. She adores car rides and will happily accompany you on any adventure. In the home, she loves carrying her toys around like prized possessions and has a knack for melting hearts with her happy, silly antics.

Shelly enjoys the company of other dogs, as she enjoys playful wrestling and bouncing around. While she plays well with most dogs, she occasionally shows dominant behaviour, so shed do best with patient, easygoing canine companions. She has also been great with cats, living harmoniously with both adult cats and foster kittens in her current home.

This smart girl is crate-trained, house-trained, and walks well on a leash. While Shelly is generally calm indoors, she does have moments of excitement, so shes working on building confidence and keeping all four paws on the ground when greeting people.

Her ideal home is one where shell get plenty of attention, exercise, and opportunities to bond with her people - whether thats during car rides, walks, or playtime. Shellys affectionate nature and playful energy make her a joy to be around, and shes eager to become someones loyal sidekick for life.

Could Shelly be the perfect addition to your family? Shes ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and lots of tail wags!

Additional adoption info

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

More about this rescue

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
R.E.B.E.L stands for: rescue, educate, believe, empower and love dogs. We live by these words every day and encourage the dog-loving community to follow suit!
