My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a very gentle loving dog that’s main wish right now is to be in a warm, loving home. Gus is a two year old 47 pound Shiba Inu/Australian kelpie mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/3. He came in as a stray. You might notice he does have a white flex in his right eye. This only adds to his uniqueness. When he got out in the yard he casually strolled around taking his time. When I offered him a treat to get him to sit, he backed up wanting to please but didn’t seem to know what I was asking of him. When I sat down, he came to me and put his head on my lap.He enjoyed having his ears scratched. He’s very well mannered, sweet, calm, and easy-going. He’s very affectionate! He did his business in the yard and walked OK on a leash. He definitely wants to be an inside dog. He does not have the temperament to be an outside dog.
