My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 5 years old
Weight: 6.83kg / 15.1lb

Meet Moe, a laid-back and affectionate kitty with a warm, friendly demeanor. Moe has lived with dogs before and seems comfortable around them, so he may enjoy having a canine companion in his forever home. He also does well with children—after a proper introduction, Moe loved rubbing against his foster’s 3-year-old son’s legs and soaking up all the love.

Moe enjoys short play sessions with wand or catnip toys and is known to carry his favorite toys around. His true favorite activity, though, is relaxing next to his human friends, soaking up pets and even belly rubs. While he may occasionally hiss when feeling unsure, this is just his way of asking for space—he’s always been gentle and easygoing.

Moe’s foster family says he made their holidays extra special with his sweet presence. He’s ready to bring that same joy to his forever home. Could it be yours?

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
