Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Blu, your ultimate velcro baby who embodies the term "couch potato." While lazy most of the time, Blu does enjoy a good walk now and then. He prefers to roam leash-free in the yard, enjoying potty breaks and sunbathing without someone hovering over him. Blu’s energy level is as flexible as his personality—he's happy to match yours. He’ll run with you, but not for long periods.
Blu has a sassy temperament, using little growls to try to get his way, but quickly complies and then seeks out affection. He's extremely affectionate but doesn't like to share the love. He’ll growl if another dog approaches you or if there's human food around, but he's not protective over dog food.
Blu loves the outdoors, sunbathing, and snuggling up for belly rubs. He’s not a fan of loud noises and gets overstimulated by kids playing. He doesn’t play with toys much and prefers the company of a calm dog. Blu doesn’t like anything in his face or loud barking, but he’s indifferent to cats and small, quiet animals.
Though fine being left alone, Blu doesn't do well confined to a crate or room; he needs to free roam to avoid anxiety. He’s great with kids as long as they’re not too loud and loves getting pets and cuddles from them. Blu’s fine with men and women alike and is happy to see anyone willing to pet him.
He’s not bad on a leash, though not entirely comfortable, and prefers to do his own thing outside but always stays within his area. Currently marking his territory everywhere, Blu is otherwise housebroken and doesn't chew or bark when left alone, just lounges until you return.
Blu is the perfect dog for someone seeking an easy-going, low-maintenance companion who loves naps, snacks, and love. Though he may test boundaries like a teenager, he’s not aggressive—just a big love bug in need of a forever home.
All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.

More about this rescue
To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.
To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.
We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
