My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JJ is a neutered male beagle/terrier mix who is a little over 1 year old. He is a good eater and sleeps well at night on a dog bed in my bedroom. He does not like a kennel.
He is pretty energetic and athletic and has the zoomies every day. He was found as a stray at Southwest high school. He is sweet and friendly to all, but needs to be worked with to help him not jump up on people.
He NEEDS to be in a home with another dog. He is good as long as there is a person or another dog around him. If he is by himself, he cries and bays. He LOVES toys and empties his toy box every day. He has been pretty good about not chewing on anything other than the toys, but has counter-surfed a couple of times with success. Very affectionate and wants to be skin on skin. He can play fetch and follow a few commands.
He has been overall pretty good with potty training, but has had some accidents. He does well on a leash and does well in the car.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
