My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Roo was brought in by her previous owner on January 2, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Say hello to Roo, the ultimate queen of calm. She's not here for the hustle, the bustle, or anything that involves loud children interrupting her royal serenity. Instead, Roo is all about a peaceful existence where she can reign supreme in quiet companionship. She doesn't demand cuddles or constant physical affection-she's more of a "walk beside you like your feline shadow" type. If you need a low-key buddy to oversee your life with regal dignity, Roo's your girl. This independent lady knows the value of a good vibe, and she'll be right there with you to soak it all in. Reading a book? She's got your back. Watching TV? She'll critique your choice in shows with her signature tail swish. Her ideal home is one where her loyal subjects (that's you) will respect her boundaries while she enjoys being in the presence of her people. Did we mention Roo comes with her very own carrier? Consider it her royal carriage-perfect for those times you need to chauffeur her to her next great adventure (or maybe just the vet). So, what are you waiting for? Trade in the chaos of everyday life for the calm, cool, and collected rule of Queen Roo. Trust us, your queendom will be better for it!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
