My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is a sweet and gentle hound mix with a heart full of love. She was found abandoned in Benton and had to be placed in an outdoor kennel due to lack of shelter space. Her only sense of warmth was to cuddle up next to the door inside her kennel that leads to the heated indoor kennels.

Despite her rough start, she’s nothing but kind and exceptionally calm. One of her cutest quirks is the way she puts her paws together - almost as if she’s praying - to ask for belly rubs. Sally will quickly show you her affectionate nature, and her easygoing demeanor makes her a favorite among other dogs of all sizes. She's not bothered in the least by cats and is happy to live in close quarters with them. She knows how to sit nicely for treats and is kennel and potty trained. Sally’s past may have been tough, but she’s resilient and ready to shower her furever family with love. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet companion who gets along with everyone, Sally is your girl.

We have an application and a contract that must be completed by potential adopters. We must obtain information to speak to your veterinarian for current animal records. If a new pet owner, we must have permission to speak to your employer. If neither are available, we are unable to adopt a pet to you.

Founded in 2005, Last Chance AR is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Central, Arkansas . Last Chance AR believes in advocating for the abused, abandoned, and neglected animals across the state that cannot speak for themselves. Last Chance AR travels statewide to urban and rural communities to provide comfort, safety, and love to animals in need. Hundreds of lives have been saved through our efforts, which include a spay and neuter program for impoverished pet owners, frequent visits to rescue animals from shelters suffering from a desperate lack of funding, and the complete inability for any of our patient and dedicated volunteers to turn down a creature in need.
