Lincoln is ready to start 2025 with a new lease on life. Lincoln is a male boxer mix that is 3 years old. He weighs 56 pounds. Lincoln came to us as an owner surrender due to his owner’s loss of housing. Lincoln is a great happy boy. He lived in a home with cats and did well. He has not lived with dogs. At the shelter, he is unphased by the other dogs. As always, a meet and greet with any resident dog is required to make sure everyone gets along. The previous owner reports that Lincoln is housetrained and crate trained. The previous owner would allow Lincoln free reign of the house when the owner wasn’t home and Lincoln was perfectly polite and non-destructive. He knows several commands including sit, paw and high five. Lincoln has a gorgeous coat of white and light brown colors. He enjoys all physical activities outside and hasn’t met a toy he dislikes. He would thrive with an active family dedicated to taking him on long walks or hikes in the Metroparks. He is just excited and willing to try new things. He is also a great co-pilot in the car. Older children are preferred for Lincoln because he is a large dog and we don’t want him knocking children down. He is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he finishes vetting which includes vaccines, heartworm testing, and a microchip. Forms can be submitted directly from our website or when you visit. We strongly suggest submitting your application before you visit.

Interview
Potential adopters are interviewed initially by phone or email and then again during the meet and greet. All family members should attend.

If you have submitted an application online we will contact you within 72 hours with any information you need to know for adoption.

Interview and interaction - find the right fit for the family and new pet and a meet if this will be a second dog in the home.

At Parma Animal Shelter, we do not adopt our animals out as gifts or surprises. We believe that adopting a pet is a significant commitment and should be a well-considered decision. Therefore, we reserve the right to refuse any adoption to ensure the best match for both the animal and the adopter.
All of our animals are microchipped, tested for disease, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and internal parasites, and given lots of loving care during their stay with us. We are dedicated to meeting their medical needs and do our best to socialize them.

We are open daily from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00-12 noon.
