Shayla is a friendly, confident girl who truly enjoys being around people. Weighing between 60–70 lbs, she has a strong presence paired with a loving personality. She does great at adoption events, enjoys meeting new people, and handles busy environments well.
Shayla can coexist with other dogs and is non-reactive when passing them on walks or in public spaces. While she sometimes does well with larger male dogs, she would thrive most as an only dog where she can have her space and full attention. She is not compatible with small dogs, cats, or other small animals or livestock.
She is comfortable around people of all ages, including kids, and enjoys being included in outings and daily life. While car rides aren’t her favorite activity, she travels just fine when needed.
Shayla will do best with a confident, strong handler who appreciates a large dog and is comfortable providing structure and guidance. She would be an excellent choice for someone looking for a dog to continue training with or a loyal companion to share daily routines, walks, and adventures.
If you’re searching for a social, people-loving dog who enjoys engagement, structure, and companionship, Shayla could be the perfect fit.

More about this rescue
Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA
Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.
At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.
All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)
While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.
Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
