My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 1 year old
Weight: 3.78kg / 8.3lb

Heidi is a shy and sensitive soul who came to us from a large surrender of over 100 cats. True to her name, she’s an expert at finding cozy hiding spots where she feels safe. In her foster home, Heidi preferred a calm, quiet environment and often came out to explore when the house was still.

Though she may need time to adjust, Heidi knows her way around and has shown she’s capable of settling into a routine. She may thrive in a peaceful home, possibly with other feline companions after gradual introductions.

Heidi’s ideal adopter will be patient, understanding, and willing to let her take the lead as she builds trust. If you have a quiet space and a big heart, Heidi might just be the perfect match for you!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
