Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I adopted Phineas (2 y/o - fixed male) from Cincy Animal Care. I wanted him and my resident cat (6 y/o - fixed female) to keep each other company and create a bond. I conducted a comprehensive cat to cat introduction that spanned over 3 weeks (including new cat solitude, mesh screen door intro, feeding schedules, treat/reward, etc.); while the initial interactions between the cats were okay, as Phineas got more comfortable in the home, he began to chase my resident cat around and bat at her. This is now a daily and hourly occurrence between the two. While it may be innocent / playful to him, she has been very distressed- to the point of throwing up. I acknowledge this is a "her" issue. While it deeply saddens me to rehome him, I know that is what needs to be done to protect my resident cat mental health and wellbeing. He is young, so his high energy isn't compatible with my older cat. He loves food, treats, playtime, and affection. I think he'd be great with kids. He is a sweet boy.
