Introducing Clarabelle, a charming bulldog who recently found her way to Zoe's House after being surrendered by a commercial breeder. Now, she's ready to leave her past behind and find a forever family to call her own. Weighing a hefty 75lbs upon arrival, her foster family has successfully helped her shed some pounds, and now she enjoys much-needed exercise.
Like any true bulldog, Clarabelle can be a bit stubborn and mischievous at times. She has a particular fondness for anything soft, so it's important to keep your socks and slippers out of her reach! Nevertheless, her cuddly nature compensates for her mischievous side, as she enjoys snuggling up on the couch with you, accompanied by a cozy blanket and a squishy toy.
Clarabelle is currently in the process of overcoming fears and building trust towards new people and environments. Although she has made significant progress in her foster home, she would thrive best in a quieter household with older children.
Clarabelle is spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She walks well on a leash, but she truly loves the freedom of her foster family's fenced-in yard. She also sleeps quietly in her crate at night and when her foster family has to leave her alone.
Clarabelle is eagerly awaiting her chance to find the loving family she deserves. If Clarabelle seems like the perfect addition to your home, please apply and be willing to travel with all members of the family including other dogs to Lancaster, where she is being fostered.

Who We Are:
Zoe's House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare group based out of Sinking Spring,PA. We are comprised solely of volunteers that generously volunteer their time, their homes and their hearts. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected or abandoned animals from high kill shelters or from owners who can no longer care for them. We provide the animals with loving foster care, veterinary treatment and rehabilitation until we are able to pair them with compatible and loving forever homes. At times we also offer permanent sanctuary to those with special or medical needs and that are considered unadoptable.
Zoe's House serves as a resource to our community and to our adopters by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, behavior training, nutrition, puppy mill awareness, heartworm preventative and breed education. Our organization also networks with other shelters and rescues. We try to assist other organizations when possible.
Zoe’s House is not federally funded, and relies solely on donations to continue to rescue. Although we are not breed specific, the need to save Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Pitbulls is ever growing; therefore, we have focused primarily on saving the lives of our beloved and majestic strong breeds.
What We do:
There are many people involved in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of each dog we take in. Our rescue effort starts with the initial intake request for a dog. Whether this be at a shelter of from an individual in the community, we try to gather as much information as we can. We then pickup or transport the dog to safety in rescue. At this time we administer immediate veterinary care to determine the health of the dog and ensure the animal has proper immunizations. We also have bloodwork done for a heartworm check, lyme, fecal and sometimes a blood panel depending on the age and health of the dog. The dog remains in "in-home" foster care and becomes a part of the fosters family for an undefined period of time. We evaluate the dog and work on basic manners and obedience. At times we have dogs for a longer duration due to health and/or age. The dogs in our care come with us to adoption events, home screenings, and ultimately permanent placement. Zoe's House then provides post-adoption follow-up and support and welcomes the new family to the "Zoe's House Family!" We strive to stay in close contact with all of our adopters to ensure the transition and life long relationship continues to be magical. We remain dedicated to the principal that we never want one of our rescues to end up in a shelter or in a home that does not provide a responsible and loving environment for the life of the animal.
We truly believe that one dog at a time... we are making a difference!
