Meet Glory
This adorable little pup, Glory, is a five-year Shih Tzu. For five years, Glory only knew pain and fear. She’d been terribly abused and neglected with things getting so bad that Glory was removed from her owner by the local Animal Control. Glory’s coat was so matted and flea infested and she was suffering from painful ear and mouth infections. The vet had to put her under anesthesia in order to shave her coat, extract her infected teeth, treat her ears and spay her. Whew! BUT, Glory is on the mend! These days she is feeling so much better and she’s ready to find a loving forever home.
The Glory we see now is a happy, calm, friendly and loving young dog. Glory is living in foster care until she’s adopted. For the first time she is learning what love and kindness are. Glory’s foster mom says this girl is perfect. She is such a great little companion. Glory is housetrained. She loves being with people. Her foster mom says she is basking in the companionship and safety of a caring home. Glory loves the other dogs in the home. While she is quiet and calm, she loves hanging out with the other dogs and wants to be where they are and where people gather. We think Glory will be cat friendly too but will test for potential adopters. Glory loves nothing better than a soft bed and blanket to snuggle into, good food, a peaceful place to lay her head and companionship. She is so grateful to be away from her previous home. She wags her tail and gets happy wiggles. She is basking in the attention of her foster home. It’s hard to believe that someone could be so cruel to Glory, but it’s only blue skies ahead for this precious pup. The person or family lucky enough to adopt her will be richly rewarded with an angel.

All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

The process usually takes 1 to 3 business days but can be slowed by not completing all of the questions, difficulty in reaching people relevant to approval and scheduling a home visit. A contract must be signed to complete the adoption process. Standard fees for dogs are $100 and for cats $85. All potential adopters must be evaluated through our approval process. We are funded 100% by donations and fundraising events. With the exception of 2 kennel managers, our operations are totally managed with volunteers. We are always in need of donations and volunteers. We appreciate the sharing of our pets on social media as most of our adoptions have resulted through the resources of the internet.
