My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE
5PM 01/08/25
Name: Pepper
Animal ID: A746127
Age: 4 years
Weight: 58.4 lbs.
About: Pepper is a beautiful brindle Shepherd who is looking for a loving and understanding forever home. She lived with her previous family since she was a puppy; they described her as an affectionate and playful girl who loves toys and being close to her humans. Pepper did well with small dogs in that home, was well-behaved when left home alone, and loves playing fetch.
Pepper has been timid in the overwhelming shelter environment but has quickly won the hearts of many volunteers. Here`s what one of them said:
“What a darling girl! Pepper is shy but sweet, and it takes some time to warm up. She loves cheese and it`s a good way to make friends. By our second meeting she was more confident. She even enjoyed ear rubs and petting.”
Pepper can be fearful of new people and is sensitive to loud noises. She has also exhibited some resource guarding tendencies, resulting in a minor bite in her former home. Despite these challenges, Pepper is a loving dog who will thrive in a savvy, supportive home.
Pepper shares her kennel with another PACC dog and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup.
Pepper is looking for a patient and understanding family who is willing to work with a qualified trainer and who will help her build confidence.

Collaboration with Rescue Groups:
•Rescue groups are encouraged to reach out to PACC early if they are able to pull this animal into their rescue (and what requirements they would have: interested adoptive party, alteration etc.)
•If an IP has not already contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups of an interested party and request their assistance.
•Rescue groups are encouraged to start their adoption process with any interested parties who have contacted them directly and email PACC at PACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov.

Please note that it is ultimately up to the rescue group`s discretion to decide whether to procee
