A24616 Ryder is a black and brown colored, approximately 1-year-old, 43-pound, neutered male, German Shepherd mix.
He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 12-30-2024 due to the fact they had so much going on they were unable to properly care for this young dog who needs attention and love.
Ryder is a friendly, eager and excited boy here at the shelter. Our staff described him as a friendly, sweet and playful boy who is full of puppy energy. He was easy to leash, pulled a little in excitement to be out exploring, but mostly well behaved and wanting to be right next to you. He has had some training and will “sit” upon command. Our staff thinks he would be great for a family dog, or great for that person that loves the outdoors and goes hiking and exploring. The previous owner says he is house broken, used a doggy door, been to the dog park, was mostly an outside dog and has lived with dogs, but not cats or children. Ryder will be a loving, loyal family member in his new forever home.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
