Meet Dre, the handsome grey tabby with a heart as big as his fluffy coat. Rescued on Thanksgiving after being hit by a car, Dre’s journey to recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. Though his beginning was rough, he's now a happy, healthy, and energetic young cat, ready to conquer the world one pounce at a time.

Dre’s thick, soft fur and bright eyes are just the beginning—his resilience and sweet demeanor make him impossible not to love. He’s a playful adventurer, always chasing after toys or seeking out new spots to explore, but he’s also a cuddle champion who loves snuggling up with his favorite humans. Dre may have had a challenging start, but now he's all about enjoying the good life and sharing his love with anyone lucky enough to be in his orbit.

Dre's story is one of second chances, and he's ready to show the world just how strong—and lovable—a cat can be.

More about this rescue

Welcome to Love Me True Rescue. This rescue began out of my overwhelming love of animals. From injured birds to stray dogs, growing up I always felt compelled to save animals in need. While living up north, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local shelter. I met many sweet animals who ended up being euthanized for lack of space or for being deemed "unadoptable". One dog in particular who broke my heart, was Penny. She was a boxer mix and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. After being returned to the shelter twice for fear aggression she was put to sleep. I wasn't able to save her life, but I knew this was my calling, and I vowed to save others like my Penny. By the grace of God (and wonderful donors and volunteers) I have been able to start this rescue, knowing I have been equipped to help these homeless and unwanted cats. This rescue's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find safe forever homes for kittens and cats who would be euthanized or abandoned. I thank you for your support and love. This is for you, Penny!
