My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cherry may have been the smallest of her litter, but she’s got the biggest personality! This confident and athletic pup loves to play and is always up for an adventure. Whether she’s chasing toys, tumbling with her siblings, or exploring new surroundings, Cherry brings her fearless and sassy attitude wherever she goes.

She’s been exposed to kids, cats, chickens, and more, making her well-rounded and socially adaptable. Cherry is currently working on her potty training and basic obedience skills, and she’s already showing how eager she is to learn.

With her playful spirit and spunky charm, Cherry is sure to bring endless joy and laughter to her future family. She’s looking for a home that will appreciate her bold, confident nature and give her all the love and fun she deserves!

Additional adoption info

At the Canine Impact Foundation, we are committed to providing both survivors of abuse and trauma and rescue dogs with the opportunity to build lasting, positive relationships through our Service Dog Placement Program and Rescue Dog Placement Program. Whether you're looking for a service dog or simply a loving companion, our process ensures a perfect match and the support needed for a successful partnership.

Application Process:
Initial Inquiry: Survivors of abuse and trauma or families looking for a rescue dog are encouraged to reach out to us through our website, phone, or email. We'll begin by understanding your unique needs, whether it's for emotional support, companionship, or a service dog specifically trained to assist with daily tasks.

Application Submission: Applicants will complete an application form to provide details about their current living situation, lifestyle, and preferences (such as dog size, temperament, or breed). This allows us to better assess the best match for both survivors and potential families.

Consultation: After receiving the application, we'll schedule a phone consultation to dive deeper into your needs. For survivors, we'll discuss the type of emotional or physical support needed from a service dog, and for families, we’ll go over the kind of companion you’re looking for. This is also an opportunity to answer any questions you may have about the program.

Home Visit & Training Commitment: For survivors seeking a service dog, we’ll conduct a home visit to ensure the environment is a good fit for the dog. If you’re a family adopting a rescue dog, we’ll discuss your home environment to ensure it’s suitable. Additionally, we require survivors to commit to at least one training session per month with their service dog, and a minimum of five training sessions while the dog is still in training. This ensures a successful transition and a healthy relationship.

Dog Matching: Once all assessments are complete, we match the survivor or family with a dog that fits their needs. For survivors, this means pairing them with a trained emotional support or service dog that will help them build new hope and strength. For families, we match them with a rescue dog that fits their lifestyle and preferences. If no match is found immediately, we continue to assess the situation until we find the right dog.

Placement & Ongoing Support: After placement, both survivors and families will receive continuous support from our team. For service dog placements, we offer ongoing training and guidance to ensure a smooth transition. For families adopting rescue dogs, we provide advice and support to help integrate the dog into their home. Our goal is to ensure that the bond between you and your dog lasts a lifetime.

At CIF, we believe in the power of second chances—for both the dogs we rescue and the survivors we serve. Our goal is to create lasting, life-changing connections that empower both dogs and humans to heal and grow together.
