Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hamong❤️
Hamong was rescued from the Gimje City shelter along with #ADogsHaru. When ADogs volunteers visited the shelter during a severe cold snap, they found young puppies including Haru shivering in the harsh conditions. Realizing how dangerous the environment was for such young pups, they urgently rescued them.
• With People: Hamong has zero fear of people and absolutely loves them! He even wags his tail at strangers and shows lots of affection to those he knows—he’s a true lap dog who climbs onto your knees for cuddles.
• With Dogs: He may bark and act cautious when meeting a new dog, but he gets along very well with the resident dogs at his foster home. He watches and imitates his doggy siblings to learn manners and routines. Sometimes his play invitations are a bit over-the-top and get rejected, but he bounces back quickly and tries again with a positive attitude!
• Separation Anxiety: Shows signs of anxiety when left alone or when his primary caregiver is out of sight—he may chew on molding or display other signs of stress.
• Potty Training: About 90% success rate on pee pads, with the occasional confusion on carpeted areas.
• Grooming & Handling: A little nervous at first during baths, but adjusts quickly and handles it well. He waits calmly in the drying room and accepts brushing without fuss. Nail trimming is currently handled at the vet.
• Walking & Leash Training: Walks nicely in step with his person. Occasionally walks ahead, but quickly returns to pace when told “Let’s go together”—such a smart boy!
• Car Rides: No motion sickness, but he trembles a bit due to past associations with vet visits. He’s improving with time and positive experiences.
💌 Special Notes💌
• As a young pup, he may still show signs of separation anxiety, potty training hiccups, nibbling, whining, minor destruction, howling, or barking—he’s still learning!
• His parent dogs are unknown, so shedding or adult size may be hard to predict.
• Occasionally marks indoor walls, but is currently in training for this.
• He loves squeaky toys and may become possessive, so playtime with other dogs should be supervised.
• When someone tries to take away his toy or approaches while he’s eating, he may growl or run around in protest—this is defensive behavior he’s learning to manage.
• He’s sensitive and reacts strongly to things he dislikes, so it’s important he receives confident, consistent leadership and gentle guidance from his caregiver.
