Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you’ve been considering adding to your family, this bonded pair of girls may be the perfect fit for you. Now that the holidays are behind us and long winter nights are ahead, can you imagine curling up on the couch with Winter and Summer by your side?
Winter is a 10-year-old English Creme, and Summer is a 7-year-old golden retriever. Both are sweet, well-behaved Golden Retrievers, and transitioning them into your home would be a smooth and easy process.
They are both:
Spayed
Great with dogs and children of all ages. Cats are unknown
Familiar with basic commands
House trained and left loose in the home
Potty trained
Love going for walks
Winter is a low-energy senior, still active and engaging but tires more quickly than Summer. She is cautious around thresholds and can be nervous during thunderstorms. Summer, with her medium energy level, can be vocal when excited. She tends to feel anxious in new situations and looks to Winter for comfort and reassurance.
When this pair was surrendered by their family, they emphasized the importance of keeping them together, as Summer has been with Winter since she was just 8 weeks old. After entering foster care, it became clear that both dogs needed medical attention: Winter had dental work done, resulting in the removal of 8 teeth, while Summer had a mass removed from her leg, which turned out to be cancerous. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, with minimal risk of regrowth.
Double the love from these two would be a beautiful addition to any home. If you’re looking for a pair of loyal companions, Winter and Summer are ready to bring warmth and joy into your life.

Additional adoption info
GRRoW's Rescue's Adoption Process
Adoptions are simple, we always match the dog to the family and the family to the dog. Our Adoption process contains the following steps:
1. Contact the GRRoW Foster Coordinator via email about the dog you are interested in adopting.
2. A GRRoW Volunteer will reach out by phone to do an interview. If a good fit for the dog an adoption application link will be sent to you via email.
3. Complete our adoption application.
4. GRRoW will conduct a veterinary reference check and background check.
5. A GRRoW volunteer will contact you to set up a home visit.
6. GRRoW will determine and notify you if you are approved. If you are not approved, we will provide you with the reason we are not willing to allow you to adopt this particular dog.
7. GRRoW will put you in contact with the foster family to further discuss the Golden Retriever that you are interested in.
If you, as the applicant would like to continue in the adoption process, a Meet and Greet is set up with the foster family. GRRoW does require you, as the potential adopter, to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet.
8. GRRoW foster families have the FINAL decision on the family that will adopt the Golden Retriever rescue.
NOTE: Considerations include application, home visit, meet and greet and overall best fit and safety considerations for the Golden Retriever rescue.
NOTE: The length of time the adoption approval process can vary and is dependent on the schedules and availability of our volunteers and the applicant(s). We ask that you please be patient through this process.
1. GRRoW does not hold dogs. If you are interested in a particular Golden Retriever, you should arrange to meet that dog as soon as possible following approval.
2. GRRoW is unable to ship our Goldens to other states.
Adoption fees are as follows:
< 1 year old: $500
1-7 years old: $400
7+ years old: $200
International Dogs: are the standard fee plus $250
If you’ve adopted a senior dog from GRRoW in the past, you may adopt another senior dog from GRRoW for $100. For international dogs, there is an additional $250 transport fee.
We are unable to accept "payment plans," but we are able to accept credit cards or checks. If you write us a check, we ask that you please ensure you have sufficient funds!
*All Golden Retriever rescues come with all Rabies and DHPP vaccinations, HW test and HW preventative, spay/neuter, micro chipping, flea and tick preventative and certified vet inspection.
Your adoption fee pays for the next Golden Retriever saved.

More about this rescue
Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Golden Retrievers. GRRoW is an all volunteer-run organization, and to cover the expenses of caring for rescued Goldens we rely on donations and fundraising as well as sales from our online shop.
We save Golden Retrievers from shelters, humane societies, and owner surrenders. Our rescued dogs are placed into foster homes to be loved, nurtured, trained and in some cases nursed back to health while we find the perfect permanent home and loving family for them.
OUR MISSION We encourage and promote responsible dog ownership, to reduce the abuse and neglect of all Golden Retrievers through rehabilitation and adoption. We do everything in our power to assure humane treatment, accept, spay/neuter, rehabilitate Golden Retrievers by placing them in caring foster homes. We strive to educate the public in responsible dog ownership, proper health and nutrition, spay/neutering, training, and good canine citizenship and discourage unwanted and careless breeding practices. We promote humane care for all dogs.
We are always looking for new volunteers, especially foster homes. We could not do what we do without all of our wonderful volunteers.
With rising professional costs for medical/rehabilitative care, your tax-deductible donation will help us to continue our mission to save goldens who deserve a long and fulfilling life.
