Cookie’s journey has been heartbreaking, but her spirit is still holding on, waiting for someone patient and loving to help her heal. Just a year ago, she was adopted from the shelter, only to be abandoned again. Recently rescued by a foster, Cookie is slowly beginning to feel what safety and kindness mean.

Understandably, Cookie is overwhelmed and terrified after all she has endured. When first rescued, her fear was so great that she would tremble uncontrollably and even lose control of her bladder or bowels when touched. With gentle care from her foster, she’s made small but brave strides. She’s learning that the world might not be so scary after all.

She needs a quiet, stable home with someone who understands that her progress will come in baby steps. Cookie would thrive with someone patient, willing to give her the time she needs to feel secure. A gentle, calm dog sibling might also help her feel more comfortable.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.).

Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate ($50) and transport ($200 for most locations). This adoption fee includes all current basic vaccinations, deworming, microchip (with lifetime registration), fecal analysis, spay, and a heartworm test. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.

After an applicant has been screened, we conduct a home visit, vet reference check and personal reference checks. If the applicant is approved, we schedule a meet and greet.
