Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This handsome young man was our final rescue pull for 2024, bringing us to an incredible milestone of 80 dogs saved this year! While it’s heartbreaking that so many dogs are in need, we’re grateful to be able to give so many a second chance. ❤️🙏
Ghost is a stunning 2-year-old Dogo Argentino who is ready for a fresh start. 🐾 After enduring two stays at the Jackson shelter, this incredible boy has spent more time behind bars than in a home. He’s young, energetic, and exceptionally intelligent, and we’re thrilled to be part of his journey.
With no fosters stepping up for Ghost, we enrolled him in a board-and-train program with our friends at Bucks Training of Central Jersey, where he will stay for the next few weeks. 🏫🐕 When his training is complete, it’s urgent that we find him a foster or forever home to continue his progress.
Ghost has a strong foundation and thrives on structure and training. He’s eager to show off what he’s learned, including sit, down, recall, touch, and place. ✅ While he passed all temperament tests, he was labeled “rescue only” due to a scuffle with another dog in his previous home, which may have been the result of a lack of leadership.
Ghost is sweet, loving, and silly, but he doesn’t realize his size—at 92 lbs, he’ll need a confident and experienced handler. 💪🐾
What Ghost Needs:
• A foster or adopter with breed experience or knowledge is essential.
• A home where he is the only pet to help him thrive. 🏡
• Adults or older teens who can handle his size and strength.
• Someone willing to follow the training plan we provide to ensure his success.
We cover all costs for fosters, including mandatory training sessions to support his transition.
Ghost is an incredible dog with so much potential and just needs the right guidance to shine. ✨ If you’re ready to help Ghost start his new chapter, please apply at pittiesandpals.com!
A big thank you to Lauraine and her team at Bucks Dog Training of Central New Jersey for making this happen so quickly. A special shoutout to all of the amazing volunteers and staff at Friends of Northern Ocean County Animal Facility for giving Ghost the love and attention during his stay at the shelter. It always takes a village!
Let’s make 2025 the year Ghost finally finds the loving home he deserves.

More about this rescue
Pitties and Pals Rescue, Inc. is (a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit). Our mission is to rescue dogs and educate the public. Although our main focus is the bully breed, we are committed to all dogs in need. We believe RESCUE involves a multitude of approaches that includes liberating dogs from at risk situations, whether in a shelter or with an owner in need of assistance. While adoption is always the ultimate goal, we believe transitioning into foster care allows for socialization and training that are key components to a successful placement.
Pitties and Pals volunteers are also committed to changing the negative public perception of the Bully Breed. As such, we welcome opportunities to heighten awareness and enhance education in a public forum through our personal stories and positive experiences.
