Meet Nova – The Sweet and Stunning Puppy Looking for Her Forever Home!

Nova is a 9-week-old mix breed puppy with a beautiful sable black coat and striking blue eyes. At just 12 pounds, she’s the perfect combination of playful energy and cuddly sweetness, ready to bring love and joy to her future family.

Nova’s Story:
Nova’s journey began on the streets of Texas, where her young mother, a stray, gave birth to her and her siblings on Halloween. Despite being underweight and struggling to survive, their mother did her best to care for her puppies until a kind rescuer brought the family to a shelter. Thanks to a foster and Safe Haven’s efforts, Nova and her siblings made their way to Illinois at just nine days old. Now, after 8 weeks in a loving foster home, Nova is ready to find a family to call her own.

About Nova:
This little girl is smart, curious, and eager to learn. Like any young puppy, Nova is working on her house manners, using pee pads in her foster home but not yet potty trained. She’s also just beginning to learn about crates and leashes.

Nova has a wonderful balance of energy and calm. She loves playtime but also enjoys snuggling in your lap for a long nap. One of her unique quirks is her love of being rocked and hummed to sleep. Nova also has a talkative side, greeting you with sweet “conversations” whenever you return home.

Socialization and Temperament:
Nova has been well-socialized with people and dogs of all sizes in her foster home. She’s a bit cautious when meeting new people but quickly warms up with guidance and reassurance, showing her affection with kisses and tail wags. She would thrive in a home with children and enjoys playing with other dogs.

The Perfect Home for Nova:
Nova is looking for a family that will shower her with love and provide the patience and guidance a young puppy needs. With positive reinforcement and consistency, she’ll grow into a well-adjusted and loyal companion. At 9 weeks old, Nova is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, making her a great fit for almost any household.

If you think Nova is the perfect match for your family, don’t wait—send in your application to Safe Haven today! Puppies like Nova, with her sweet personality and stunning looks, won’t be available for long.

A Quick Reminder:
Puppies require time, care, and patience as they adjust to their new homes. With love and consistency, Nova will blossom into an amazing family member.

Is Nova the one for you? Apply now and start your journey with this extraordinary pup!

More about this rescue

We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.

The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.

Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.

While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.

We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
