My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abby Cadabby – A Sweet Bull Terrier in Search of Love and Healing!

Abby Cadabby, a 4-year-old English Bull Terrier, is a gentle, playful soul ready to embrace her well-earned retirement. Rescued from a breeder, Abby came to her foster family very pregnant, malnourished, and unfamiliar with the comforts of indoor living. But this resilient girl has quickly caught on, making herself at home—especially on the couch!

Abby loves chasing toys, playing fetch, and showing off her adorable bunny-like bounces. When she’s extra excited, she does the infamous Bull Terrier hucklebutts before rolling over for belly rubs. Abby is especially fond of children, showing a soft and gentle nature uncommon in her breed. That being said, small children are not recommended for the breed as they bull terriers can get rowdy and a bit rough with play.

True to her Bull Terrier roots, she still gives lip smacks and happy nibbles, so her ideal adopter will have breed knowledge or experience to appreciate these quirks. Abby also prefers to be the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.

Most importantly, Abby needs someone ready to help her heal the rest of the way, finish potty training, and spoil her rotten for all the love and affection she missed in her early years.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Abby Cadabby, she’ll fill your life with magic, joy, and unconditional love.

If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
