My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy is a beautiful white hound mix with brindle markings. Her date of birth is 6/20/2019 and she currently weighs about 57 pounds. She is a sweet girl, and she is smart too. She knows sit and loves the interaction of learning. She is dog selective, people friendly and does not do well with cats. She does well with older children and needs to learn not to knock down the little ones. Daisy enjoys playing outside and chasing squirrels, so a fenced yard would be ideal. She has some allergies which require her to eat special food and get a weekly injection of allergy serum to keep her comfortable, so the special human who adopts Daisy will be required to have a medical consultation with our vet. The love you will get from her makes it worth the effort! Come meet sweet Daisy today and give her the loving home that she so deserves!

Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
