My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Italia, the perfect teeny tiny snuggly sweet girl! Italia is medium energy, affectionate, cat-tolerant and dog-friendly, a perfect addition to your pack or a wonderful companion dog. She’s downright adorable with cute little white socks, a sweet little smile, and a love for snuggling.

At an estimated two years old, we believe Italia will be this petite and sweet forever! She’s a member of the ittie bittie pittie committee almost certainly. We think she is an APBT, American Staffordshire Terrier mix, but she is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses. Italia weighs in at 47 pounds, she’s the perfect weighted blanket for relaxing couch snuggles!

Fall in love with Italia here: https://youtu.be/u_C6oubTVYo?feature=shared

Italia is sweet with other dogs, and is currently fostered in a multi-dog home. She does have a preference for the more mellow dogs, and likes to spend a lot of her time with other dogs just exploring, meandering and sunbathing. When the time is right, she will play with other dogs, and she does have an adorably, bouncy, puppy-ish playstyle.

Italia is dog friendly, but she’s definitely more of a people’s dog. She’s so affectionate and snuggly, tolerant of being picked up and dressed up. She loves to be cooed over and complimented. She loves to be the star of the show. She’s sweet and gentle with everyone she meets, and while we haven’t seen her with kids just yet, we do have a sneaking suspicion that she would be an amazing family dog.

Italia regularly interacts with cats in her foster home, and because of this we believe she is cat tolerant and capable of living with kitties. See Italia with kitties for yourself in her video!

Toys, treats and tummy rubs- that’s Italia’s love language. Italia adores stuffies, and likes to chase toys when you throw them. With a little practice, she’ll be an expert fetch-player. Italia is also food motivated and a gentle treat taker, making further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you.

We believe that Italia would do well in a home with other medium to low energy dogs, or as your only child. She would likely love the family dog lifestyle. She will definitely love YOU, and the whole “being best friends” lifestyle! This sweet girl is ready to fall in love with her forever family. We are willing to test Italia with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test
● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion
● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future
sessions
● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs

● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions
● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer
● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates,
resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
