My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ramon the romantic, the dreamy dog that loves to hold hands and snuggle. Ramon is a gentle, sweet and loving soul with amazing manners and a fantastic grasp on basic obedience. He currently resides in a loving foster home with a dedicated foster mom and her two personal dogs, including a chihuahua! Ramon is small dog friendly, and a doggy daycare camper- a perfect addition to any pack! He’s snuggly and affectionate and a perfect work from home companion too!

At an estimated two years old, we believe Ramon is full grown at his 48 pounds! He has this gorgeous chocolate coat and the cutest speckled paws. You’ll see a lot of his paws because he loves to hold hands! Ramon learned “paw” and decided that holding hands was a favorite activity of his, it’s the sweetest thing- he does it to strangers often! We think Ramon is a Staffie, Lab mix, but he is a rescue so these are just our best guesses.

Fall in love with Ramon here: https://youtu.be/RiDxXcT5vmE?feature=shared

Ramon is fun, playful and respectful with other dogs, and is currently fostered in a multi-dog home. He accepts corrections from other dogs well, famously allowing the teeny tiny chi of the house to be in charge! He goes to doggy daycare often to socialize and he’s a favorite of the other dogs and staff alike. Ramon absolutely adores other dogs and would love to live in a home with doggy siblings of his own, but knowing how people-loving he is we believe he could thrive as a solo dog as well.

With new people and places, Ramon can be a bit shy at first. Once he’s opened up, he’s all love and snuggles. Ramon’s foster mom reports that he loves snuggling, and will lay on her lap, behind her in her office chair, or on the floor under her legs just to be close to her. Ramon isn’t overly persistent about needing love though, he’s happy to just exist with you. Between his quiet snuggles and his love for stuffies, this sweet boy makes a perfect WFH companion.

Ramon is super smart and trainable, and he knows a handful of basic commands already, including paw and sit. He’s also food motivated and a very gentle treat taker, making further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. Ramon’s foster mom reports that he’s already good on leash and loves to take walks around the neighborhood with her.

In the home, Ramon is well mannered and sweet. His foster mom reports that he’s very good in his crate, doesn’t have indoor accidents, and is very respectful of her furniture. Ramon is best described as “medium energy,” he loves to play and he loves his toys, but he also deeply appreciates a relaxing nap on the couch.

We believe that Ramon would do well in a home with other dogs, or as your only child. While we haven’t seen him with kids just yet, we believe he could do well in a home with older children. We do not recommend Ramon for a home with kitties, as he is a little too interested in cats on walks. Ramon is such a sweetheart, and he’s ready to meet his forever family. We are willing to test Ramon with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
