Bullwinkle is a cute, high-energy boy with lots of love to give! He is eager to greet friends with a wagging tail and jumps up for attention right away. Bullwinkle has that classic “puppy” energy and will need some training to channel his excitement into good manners.
He’s playful, enjoys hopping into laps, and is very people focused. While he may show some initial fear, once he feels comfortable, he’s a happy, affectionate pup.
Bullwinkle is looking for an active human who can provide him with the exercise, training, and love he needs to become the very good boy we know he can be. He’s a sweet, playful boy who will thrive in a home that’s ready to help him grow into his best self!
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Bullwinkle at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.

Behavior notes:
per volunteer 1/5: Bullwinkle is a spunky young man full of energy. He wanted to play with every dog that walked by the run. He is very sweet and wants a lot of pets/attention, but will need some guidance on manners. Bullwinkle looks house trained and sits for treats!
1/4/25 volunteer notes:
Bullwinkle is fun with puppy-like energy! He loves to run and gets excited to see other dogs. In both fence meets and leash meats, he does come on quite strong and seems to be very playful with a rough and tumble type style. Would do good with another dog who loves to wrestle too I think. he is learning some manners and can be a little jumpy and needs open palms for treats as he hasn’t learned to take them gently quite yet. He does a fantastic sit and will be patient if you ask him. Would probably be best in a home without children for now.

BEHAVIOR EVALUATION:
KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray - has “puppy manners” per finder
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Bullwinkle was at the front of his kennel with soft eyes and a wagging tail. He jumped up right away and alert barked at me. He got down and cowered a bit when I reached in with the leash, but with some bay talk went right back to wiggling. He sniffed the leash and licked at my hand while I leashed him, and came right out. He immediately jumped up on me when he exited to say hi.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulled moderately, gave a short growl at dogs that were reacting to him and tried to jump on a person walking by
HANDLING :
Bullwinkle was very handler oriented and sweet in the room with me. He stayed near me and would whine and jump in my lap for attention. He allowed all handling right away and was just happy to be around a person. He cowered away at one point when I reached for his leash, so he seems to be a little fearful at first. He got to meet another staff member that entered the room and jumped up on them with soft eyes and wagging tail to say hi. He was playful and jumpy, but not too mouthy. Overall, Bullwinkle is a high energy puppy that will need lots of training and exercise to succeed.
PLAY:
Engages in play. Get very jumpy but kept mouthing to a minimum
TOYS:
Interest but no possession. He would mouth at them in my hand and chase them when thrown, but never took full possession
1/2/25 staff noted: Has no manners, will jump on you but its all puppy like behavior, did know "sit". Asked why finder marked "aggressive" and they stated he just will bark and jump on you
