My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cody is a 4-yr old Yorkie maybe mix from Mississippi. Cody weighs about 8 pounds. He was confiscated by animal control for not being properly cared for. Cody is a very sweet boy who loves to cuddle. He enjoys being on your lap and sleeping under the covers in bed. He is great with dogs and fine with cats. He does occasionally chase. That being said Cody has never had any boundaries and does not like to be told no. We are working on staying off the table. Cody can be very possessive of toys and favorite items and if you are not careful retrieving them he will bite. He has gotten a lot better and rarely shows this behavior but does need to be monitored. For that reason, no young kids. He is not possessive of food and happily shares the bowl with the other dogs. He has happily shared our home with 5 other dogs, cats and many family get togethers with no issues at all. We just want to be transparent. Cody is fostered in Woolwich.

More about this rescue

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.

PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
